St Canice's Credit Union in Kilkenny has paid tribute to the late Paddy Fry, who served in a variety of roles with the community-based organisation.
"We were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Paddy Fry at the weekend," a spokesperson for the local credit union said in a tribute to Mr Fry.
"Paddy played a significant role in the history of St Canice’s Credit Union and gave many years of committed service to the organisation.
"A former Board member, he served as the Credit Union’s 5th President from 1975 to 1977, was appointed Credit Controller in October 1977, and later became Manager in 1995," they added.
"Over decades of service, Paddy became synonymous with St Canice’s Credit Union and was known to generations of members in Kilkenny. He was part of the fabric of the organisation, working closely with staff and volunteers and earning the respect of all he worked with," the tribute continued.
"We extend our sincere sympathies to Paddy’s family and friends. May he rest in peace."
