'This is f*****g scandalous' - Ghost Tipperary point leaves Kilkenny fans furious

The GAA have launched an investigation following confirmation that the wrong scoreline was displayed in Croke Park in the dying minutes of Tipperary's All-Ireland Semi-Final defeat of Kilkenny.

"The GAA can confirm that the official score at the end of the Tipperary v Kilkenny GAA Hurling All-Ireland Senior Championship Semi-Final was 4-20 to 0-30. The GAA acknowledges there was confusion over the final score. The CCCC is awaiting the full referees report in order to establish how the initial mistake occurred."

Speaking after the match, both Derek Lyng and Liam Cahill confirmed they thought it was 4-21 to 0-30, with a Noel McGrath shot into Hill 65 wrongly put up on the scoreboard.

This meant Kilkenny players believed they had to hunt down a three point deficit, with Kilkenny fans arguing this had an unfair game defining impact on the result.

One Kilkenny Live reader was particularly irate, stating: "In this day and age, this is f*****g scandalous. I was in a pub watching it and I copped it straight way. It completely changed our tactics for last few minutes. Our County Board should be looking for a rematch."

"4-20 as Noel McGrath's point not awarded. Interesting in context of the end game where Kilkenny chased a goal in injury-time thinking they were three behind," one person added.

"Why couldn't RTE at least get the score correct. Had Kilkenny known that only 2 points in it with over 2 minutes left would they have gone for a goal? Amateur hour again," another person posted to social media.
