Calls for 'additional powers' to tackle Kilkenny dog poo epidemic

Local Labour councillor, Sean Ó hArgain has called for additional powers and resources be provided to deal with dog fouling and inappropriate disposal of dog waste bags

Mr ÓhArgain has also requested Kilkenny City Municipal District would examine the provision of a dog park facility in the city area, similar to the facility installed in Dunmore Countryside Park.

Last week, Kilkenny Live reported on the 'ongoing battle' John Locke Park, is facing with dog dirt.

Meanwhile, in South Kilkenny, a local mother has heavily criticised the amount of dog fouling she is seeing while walking to and from the school in Ballyhale village, expressing dissatisfaction at what is becoming an increasing issue in County Kilkenny.

Will the scourge of dog fouling in the city take a step closer to being resolved this week? 

The matter will be discusses amongst city councillors at Friday's sitting of the Kilkenny City Municipal District.
