WATCH: Medieval Mile video campaign launched to showcase what's on offer in Kilkenny City

The #shopkilkenny Medieval Mile video and social media campaign aims to highlight the fantastic range of retail and hospitality services in the City for visitors on the Medieval Mile route.

Kilkenny retailers have teamed up with Kilkenny County Council to produce a promotional video of the City to showcase Kilkenny's fantastic retail offerings and visitor attractions along the route of Ireland's Medieval Mile. 

Ireland’s Medieval Mile runs through the centre of Kilkenny City, linking the 13th Century St. Canice’s Cathedral and the Anglo-Norman Kilkenny Castle and the compact, captivating and cosmopolitan City in between. 

This new #shopkilkenny Medieval Mile video and social media campaign has been designed exhibit the vast range of shopping and dining experiences available in the City to visitors on the Medieval Mile route.

While visitors can immerse themselves in Kilkenny's rich tapestry of history, they can also enjoy the array of shops and restaurants the City has to offer, from multi-generational, family-owned boutiques, cafes, bars, gifts, craft, jewellers and household outlets and so much more.

Kilkenny City is a treasure trove for visitors who want to experience its rich history as the Medieval capital of Ireland. Its Medieval heritage has been well preserved and enriched, making it visible throughout the streets, laneways, buildings and secret slipways of the City. 

The aim of this campaign is to show that while immersing themselves in the historical City, visitors can also experience the high quality retail and hospitality services that line its streets.

Commenting on the creation of the Medieval Mile video, Mayor of Kilkenny Municipal District, Councillor Andrew McGuinness said: "We are very fortunate to have a great mix of retailers who work together, who take great pride in their businesses, in the City, in the retail and visitor experience it provides and the sustainable employment they create here."

"Over 50 of these retailers have engaged with us on the campaign to date and have been very generous with their time, showcasing their individual retail businesses as part of a video which will be shared locally, nationally and internationally."
