The death has occurred of Revd. Fr. Liam J. Shore P.E., No. 2 Bowden's Court and formerly of Kiltown, Castlecomer, Kilkenny. Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family and in the wonderful care of The Sacred Heart Nursing Home, Crosspatrick. Pre-deceased by his parents, William and Elizabeth, sister Johanna Byrne and recently deceased brother Robert, sister-in-law Frances, brothers-in-law Jim and Mick. Deeply regretted and forever missed by his sister Lizzie Byrne (Ballymacarbry), nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, great neighbours, relatives, Bishop and priests of the Diocese of Cardiff, Wales and Ireland, and especially in the parish of Castlecomer and in the Castlecomer District Hospital.
Funeral cortege arriving at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Castlecomer on Thursday for Requiem Mass at 3pm. The Funeral Mass can be viewed HERE In accordance with Fr. Liam's wishes his body has been donated to Medical Science for Teaching and Research, in the School of Medicine, U.C.D., Dublin. No flowers please, donations if desired to the Friends of Castlecomer District Hospital.
The death has occurred of Patrick (Paddy) Kavanagh, Coach Road and late of Pearse Street, Kilkenny, on September 16, 2025 (peacefully) in the wonderful care of the staff at Archersrath Nursing Home. Paddy will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, especially Tom and Helena, grandnephew Cian, his extended family, friends and neighbours.
Reposing at Hehir's Funeral Home (R95 FH90) from 5.30p.m. on Thursday, September 18, with Funeral Prayers at 6.30p.m. followed by removal to St. Canice's Church. Requiem Mass on Friday at 11a.m. followed by interment in St. Kieran's Cemetery. Paddy's Requiem Mass will be live streamed HERE
The death has occurred of Angela Barry, Main Street, Mooncoin, Kilkenny / Waterford City, Waterford, formerly of Bernard Place and late of Bausch and Lomb. Angela died on September 16, 2025. Predeceased by her father Robert. Much loved wife of Derek (Rothwell) and loving mother of Lee, Orla and Keith. Will be sadly missed by her mother Joan, sisters Catherine, Teresa and Elizabeth, brothers Paul, Robin and Noel, her sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at Tom Hennessy's Funeral Home, 45A Johnstown, Waterford (X91 FW4A), on Friday, September 19, from 6pm to 7:30pm. Requiem Mass on Saturday, September 20, in the Holy Family Church, Luke Wadding Street, Waterford at 10am, followed by burial in Kilbarry Cemetery. House private please. The death has occurred of Eileen Farrell (neé Ryan), Ballycormack, Bagenalstown, Co Carlow, formerly Tyroe, Ullard, Graignamanagh, Co Kilkenny. Peacefully on September 17, 2025 in the loving care of the staff at St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny. Predeceased by her husband Lar, son John, son-in-law Séamus, parents Mary and John Ryan and siblings Mary, Bridie, Patsy, Tim, Betty and Jane. Much loved mother of James, Sarah (Mullingar) and Mary, and loving Nanny to grandson John and his fiancé Ciara. Deeply regretted by her family, her sister Peggy, daughter-in-law Mary, son-in-law Michael, sister-in-law Statia, brothers-in-law Matt and Liam, cousins, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at her son James’s residence (R21 T223) on Friday, September 19, from 12 pm, with prayers at 8pm. Removal on Saturday morning to St. Lazerian’s Church, Ballinkillen (Y21 Y004), via Lorum arriving for Requiem Mass at 11am, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
