Carole Taylor (née Lawlor)

The death has occurred of Carole Taylor (née Lawlor), Troyscourt, Kilkenny and formerly of Luton, UK and Bennettsbridge. Carole passed away on March 17, 2026, peacefully, at Kilkenny Care Centre. Predeceased by her parents Tom and Birdie Lawlor and her sister Jackie (Simmons). Carole will be sadly missed by all her cousins, the Kennedy, Skehan, Lanigan, Hayes and Lawlor families, extended family and her many friends.

Funeral Mass for Carole will be celebrated on Friday, March 20, at 11am in St. Bennett's Church, Bennettsbridge. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Teresa O'Brien (née Blanchfield)

The death has occurred of Teresa O'Brien (née Blanchfield), Naas, Kildare / Thomastown, Kilkenny, on March 18, 2026 in her 99th year. Peacefully, at Craddock House Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Billy and loving mam of Mary, Liam, Brenda, Shay and Paul. Predeceased by her siblings Paddy, Monnie, Mary, Jim and son-in-law Anthony. Teresa will be sadly missed by her loving children, grandchildren Barry, Ciara, John, Richard, Kellie, William, Victoria, Emily, Rachel, Sarah, Orla, Katie, Allie, Jane, Rob, David, Amy, Ciaran and Niamh, 15 great-grandchildren, daughters-in-law Jackie, Debby and Caroline, son-in-law John, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at the George Mullins Funeral Home, Kilcullen Road, Naas, Co. Kildare (W91 CD0K) on Thursday, March 19, from 4pm to 7pm with Rosary Prayers at 6:30pm. Sheila Hallinan (née Kelly)

The death has occurred of Sheila Hallinan (née Kelly), Newcastle, Clonmel, formerly St Patrick’s Street, Kilkenny, who passed away peacefully, after a long illness, in the tender care of the staff of Tipperary University Hospital, Clonmel. Predeceased by her parents Dick and Bridie and her infant daughter Laura. Deeply regretted by her beloved husband Michael (Mikey), devoted mother to Frank, Emmet, Johnny, Claire O'Brien, Katie and Ray and their spouses and partners, Karen, Ailish, Jacqui, Martin and Gearoid, cherished grandchildren Emily, Mikey, Sile-Mae, Peadar, Fergus, Billy, Mikey and Killian. Sadly missed by her sisters (Patricia Kelly, Brigid Dooley, Margaret Butler, Kathleen Foley and Sr. Mary Leo) and her brother Edward, her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, extended family and many neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Condon’s Funeral Palour, Clonmel, on Friday, March 20, from 5pm to 7pm. Removal to the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption, Newcastle, arriving at 11am for Requiem Mass on Saturday, March 21, followed by cremation at the Island Crematorium, Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork. Family flowers only.

Vera Flood (née Brooks)

The death has occurred of Vera Flood (née Brooks), on March 18, 2026, Kylemore, The Rower, Co. Kilkenny and Brooks Jewellers, Charles Street, New Ross. Predeceased by her loving daughter Sonia and son Mark. Sadly missed by her loving grandchildren Nicky, Karin, Lisa, Rachel and Sarah, great-grandchildren Zoe, Jack, Georgia, Annalise, Benjamin, Pippa, Beau, Sophia and Elliott, son-in-law John, daughter-in-law Mary, extended family and friends.

Reposing at Cooney's funeral home, New Ross, on Thursday, March 19, from 7pm with prayers and removal at 7.30pm to St. Mary's Church, New Ross. (eircode: Y34 DN82). Funeral Service on Friday, March 20, at 11am followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining churchyard.

Richard (Dick) Barcoe

The death has occurred of Richard (Dick) Barcoe, Altamount Park, Kilkenny, and formerly of Coolatogher, Skeoughvosteen, Co. Kilkenny. Dick passed away on March 18, 2026, peacefully, at University Hospital, Waterford. Predeceased by his parents James and Elizabeth. Dick will be dearly missed by his loving family, sister Joanna, brothers Andy, John and Jim, sisters-in-law Mary, Linda and Frances, nieces Tara, Becky, Katie, Liz and Alicia, nephews Eric, Anthony, Kevin, Richie, James and Brian, grand nieces and nephews, extended family, kind neighbours, his many friends and all who knew him. Dick's family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff at University Hospital, Waterford and St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny for the care and kindness shown to Dick during his illness.

Reposing in Johnston's Funeral Home, John's Green, Kilkenny (R95XE00) on Thursday, March 19, from 5pm to 7pm with Prayers at 6.30pm. Requiem Mass on Friday at 10.30am in St. John's Church, Kilkenny. Funeral afterwards to Skeoughvosteen Cemetery where Dick will be laid to rest with his parents. House private please. The Requiem Mass will be live streamed here: REQUIEM MASS Family flowers only.
