People of the Year awards launch

Tickets are available for this year's Kilkenny People of the Year awards. Be sure to purchase yours to support both the award winners and of course this year's beneficiary - Amber Women's Refuge Project.

The 22nd annual Kilkenny People of the Year awards takes place in The Newpark Hotel on Friday November 2nd. The gala function will honour those who continue to do great work and show outstanding commitment to our community and our people.

Among the winners are those who have inspired us at  both at local and national level. From Vicky Phelan, for her tremendous courage and fight for justice and medical rights, to the Billy's Tea Rooms committee in Ballyhale - helping to revive a proud village - these awards continue to highlight the achievements and roles of those who represent all that is good about our county.

The overall champion from the eight tremendous category winners will be revealed on the night.

The organising committee this year consists of Chairman Billy Gardiner, Gary Gordon, Katherine Peacock, Mairead Rohan, Mary Cody, Rory Williams and Brian Keyes.

For tickets, please contact (056) 77 91000 or call to the Kilkenny People offices on High Street, Kilkenny.
