The closed pedestrian crossing of the Lingaun River at Tinvane, Carrick-on-Suir
A footbridge over the Lingaun River in Kilkenny (near the Tipperary border) is closed until further notice as it's deemed unsafe to use.
A notice published on Carrick-on-Suir Municipal District's Facebook page states that following recent inspections, the structure has been deemed unsafe for use, and the closure is necessary to protect all users.

"Unfortunately, there is no safe alternative route across the river and pedestrians must use a suitable detour.

"Kilkenny County Council is currently assessing the required works, and we will provide updates as soon as more information becomes available."

The council advised users of the bridge with further queries to contact Kilkenny County Council's Piltown District Office.
