Kilkenny people have voiced their disquiet at continuing cases of illegal dumping in the locality.
In response to a video posted by Carlow-Kilkenny Fianna Fáil TD, Peter 'Chap' Cleere, one member of the public summed up the situation by simply stating: "scandalous."
"So awful to see," another person wrote, adding, " it's not just big loads of rubbish though, also all the endless bottles and chip bags thrown out the windows on all the local roads."
"I've had numerous representations right across Carlow and Kilkenny of examples," Deputy Cleere said.

"I'm passionate about rural Ireland but when you consider the amount of work community groups and Tidy Towns do to make our villages, town and rural areas absolutely spotless, this is a kick in the face to those people.
"Illegal dumping is blighting towns, villages and rural areas across the constituency," he continued.
"Community groups and Tidy Towns work tirelessly to keep areas clean - fly-tipping undermines all of that effort. It’s unacceptable and it must stop," the local TD added.
Meanwhile, Kilkenny County Council intends on implementing a number of CCTV schemes which aim to deter, prevent, detect and prosecute cases of illegal dumping.
According to Kilkenny County Council, the CCTV cameras are for the sole and primary purpose of preventing litter and illegal dumping and enforcement of the Litter Pollution Act 1997, as amended, and the Waste Management Act 1996, as amended. - READ MORE HERE
